The A810, with its 5x zoom, 16 megapixel sensor and budget-minded price seems to be quite the steal. We put it through the wringer to see if its worth your money.

Using the Canon PowerShot A810 isn't an unpleasant experience. It's easy to use and the people that it's aimed at will be perfectly happy with how it performs. If you're looking for a camera to make you go “wow!” then this isn't one to do that. But you should know that from the price.

The A810 is an easy to use, pocketable budget compact camera. Images produced have excellent colour reproduction which will look great when sharing them on sites like Facebook. Detail isn't good enough for large prints, but there are a number of creative modes available to help you take unique...

Usually good cameras. Usally very durable. I have dropped them, Jammed the lens in just pulling it back out, and never had exposure issues. This one is garbage NOT to Canon standards.

Cannon past point and shoots. They have been good on past purchases. No pros for this camera. Same slow action. I was seeking a newer camera that might process pics a little faster

  • -

Its is difficult to hold with one hand as your fingers get in the way of sensors because its too thin. The settings are impossible to get to in the new firmware set up and changes to the hardware options on the top of the camera. Long flash Charge time. Poor processing. Broke in first 4 months.

For a $30 camera it's wonderful. I agree that it has ALOT of noise. It's slower than a DSLR, but what do you expect? IT'S NOT A DSLR! I love the fact that it takes AA Batteries, it makes it a very good backup camera (because the quality still kicks the butt of 90+% of cell phone cameras...
