Canon takes a big step forward in the mirrorless camera market with the EOS M3, but it still lags behind the competition.

Sturdy, compact body. Tilting rear touch display. In-body flash. Wi-Fi with NFC. Mounts Canon SLR lenses via adapter.
-
-
EVF is an expensive add-on. Slow autofocus. Limited shooting buffer. Cramped controls.
At a time when many new cameras represent very minor updates over their predecessors, it's refreshing to discover just how much Canon has improved on the EOS M3. Pick it up and you'll notice the chunkier and more comfortable grip straightaway.

Good quality images and low noise., Tilting touchscreen., Wifi with NFC for sharing and remote control., Mic input and confident focusing for movies.

No built-in viewfinder., Servo AF slows burst shooting down., Poor battery life. Little warning before expiry., Very limited selection of native EF-M lenses., No panorama or timelapse facility built-in.
There’s no denying that the EOS M3 is a huge improvement on the original EOS M1 . To begin with it’s compact and impressively well made, with a control layout that makes it a pleasure to use.

Excellent design and user interface; Pleasing image quality; Huge improvement on predecessor
-
-
Focusing speed and continuous shooting still behind competition; Lacking built-in viewfinder; Poor kits lens
It's important to remember that although the EOS M3 uses the same sensor as the 750D and 760D it has the EF-M lens mount that was introduced with the original M. This new mount is necessary because creating a mirrorless camera allows the lens mount to be closer to the sensor than it is in an SLR and...

No electronic viewfinder to shoot like a dLSR included (optional accessory), No built-in image stabilization system, requires IS built into lenses, Lots of image noise in medium and high ISO images, Rather small selection of M-Mount lenses (with adapter can use all EF lenses), Below average battery...
The Canon EOS M3 brings a compact form-factor into the interchangeable lens category, along with decent daylight imaging. However, its low-light performance is below par, it has a limited dynamic range, renders high noise in ISO settings of 1000 and above, and is too heavy to justify itself as the...

The Canon EOS M3 offers dSLR-quality photos and a nice design, but its feature set is average, performance is sluggish and its price relatively high, at least in the US and the UK.

+
A very well-designed mirrorless interchangeable-lens camera, the EOS M3 offers high-quality photos.
-
-
It's slow, with a relatively limited feature set for the price.
Sadly for Canon, the debut of the first-generation Canon EOS M was met with a rather ho-hum response, at least here in the US. Limited lens selection and less-than-stellar AF performance were major factors, as was the more established success of competing manufacturers in the mirrorless space.
With its focus on digital SLRs, Canon has been slower than its rivals in coming up with a solid mirrorless camera to fill a growing gap in the market. There’s a reason – Canon has produced more than 110 million interchangeable EF Lenses used with its EOS DSLR cameras.
I got the camera for video I looked at Fuji but went the canon because I have a 50D and a lot of lens and flash units they all work with this camer very well with the canon adapter.

small with high quality and good kit lens

camera is small and I have big hands and push buttons by accident
Yes M3 is the best Canon mirrorless interchangeable lens camera, but compared to everything else on the market? Its a sad sad slow, very limited overpriced camera. Every manufactured: Sony, Olympus, Fuji, Panasonic, even Samsung has made dozens of fast, accurate, feature rich mirrorless cameras,...
