I had my IS 15X50's for nearly a week, and I am happy with them! I am a visual hobby astronomer. All my astronomy gear is two eyed optics. While I have enjoyed my hand held binoculars, my hands have become unsteady over the years.
I use this bin mostly for birding and wildlife viewing. We have a lot of open area around here and my old 10 power bins just didn't quite have enough reach. My wife bought the 12x36 is version of these bins and we are extremely happy with them.
Have had for 3 months now. Love them. Very crisp image, stabilizer works great. Viewing moon, birds, moving objects, excellent. Canon - please include the endcaps for the big lens!
Amazing when it locks in while hand held. Bit on the heavy side. I upgraded strap to op/tech system for more comfort. Also added 58mm lens hoods to increase contrast especially when doing astronomy. Also added 62mm lens caps for the lens hoods. 58mm lens caps fit binox without lens hoods.
I bought these about 5 years ago and kept them in my house in Nh on Lake Winnipeasaukee. in the past year, they started showing moisture inside the glass.
Very clear and gather light nicely. IS works wonders, only draw back is size and weight. would be nice if they came with caps for both ends for the price, not cheap.
The image stabilization works beautifully and for viewing game at high power and long ranges it is essential. I really was amazed at the stabilization. I did not feel however that the optics quality and clarity was up to the price tag!

no matter how great your optics are if you can't hold the binoculars steady you can't see detail. These eliminate most of the shake and really replace a tripod. I have several dozen binoculars from WWI surplus to Leica and Steiner. These obsolete every one of them.
Like you, I have too many binoculars and each pair has pluses and minuses. The Canon 15x50 IS are a cut above everything I have ever tried. The 15x magnifications get the subject really close and the 50mm objective gathers tremendous light.
Use my Canon binoculars for hunting and camping. These give excellent optical clarity, as you are able to see deer and turkey from a long distance against dark background. Works equally well during dusk and dawn, excellent light gathering clarity.
