Canon 12x32 IS Image Stabilized Binocular

I have used my Canon binoculars for a little over two months now. I agree with other reviewers that the eyecups should be reconsidered but if you roll down the eyecups there is no issue unless you need to wear glasses with the binoculars.

I have been using the Vortex Razor HD 8x42 which have very good optics. I will admit the Canon 12x32 IS does not have the clarity that the vortex has but the amount of detail I am able to see with image stability makes up for and supersedes the Vortex. I use my binoculars to bird watch.

The only downsides have to do with exterior parts. The eye pieces dont take into account the shape of the human face as far as eye sockets are concerned. The first button is of a very strange design but after you accept that and work with it, the second easier button fully engages a very good...

The exit pupil is a little smaller than the older version, but it doesnt make a noticeable difference. The optics are outstanding and the new IS is superb. The standard IS is fine most of the time.

This is the 2nd IS Canon binoculars I've purchased. They deliver a good close-up of far away items, but need some changes. Firstly, the eye cups, if not rolled down, severely limit the field of vision to a very narrow range.

I cannot say how much I enjoy these. The optics are sharper -- much sharper than the older models -- and with the improved stabilization I can see details a mile away and do so without jitter.

As others have warned, the eyecups on these Canon IS binoculars are terrible. I have to press the binoculars very hard to my eyes to get a full image; with regular pressure, the image size is reduced by 50% and is like looking down a cardboard tube.
