I've been using a Cartoni tripod for many years, indestructible, $2,000 worth, and also pretty heavy. I was not surprised that I felt a little hesitant at first with this tripod, but I love it. I'm very pleased with the video head, its weight and the bag.
I took this with me to shoot a documentary in the Dominican Republic. I was excited about the small form factor and that it could be thrown into a backpack. It was fine for the stable shot interviews, but for anything requiring a pan or tilt, for the money, I was disappointed.
The quick release plate is compatible with the Manfrotto 501PL. I didn't see this info jump out anywhere other than on the box. This opens up many more options for getting a QR ecosystem going. It's phenomenally compact, pans and tilts phenomenally well.
You won't be doing any professional work with this tripod. The Aero 4 is marketed as a travel tripod, i.e., take it with you on vacation and use it with your high-end camcorder or DSLR. That is how I use it.
Ideal for travel, Not for panning or tilts.
Excellent for Travel, No for panning or tilt camera movements.
overall love this tripod. very well built, very nice fluid head. get's nice and tall. Appreciate the little travel bag. The one small problem, however, is that the screw down for the quick release plate is positioned in such a way that the camera actually blocks the path in order to tighten it all...
Best semi professional tripod. I use it for shooting features, short films and music videos.
Is strong steady and light to care around. My favorite part is the ball-head!!
The Benro tripod with S6 head is a quality tripod. The tension controls work well and the weight gives it good stability. The one design flaw is the QR Plate Lock Lever. The lever is up against the bottom of my Canon 70D camera and is difficult to loosen and tighten.
