The Acer XG270HU is a sharp-looking 27-inch gaming monitor that uses AMD's FreeSync technology to deliver smooth gaming performance.

Sleek design. Sharp WQHD image. AMD FreeSync enabled. Good gaming capability. Speedy refresh rate.

Middling color and grayscale performance in our tests. Tilt-only stand. Narrow viewing angles. No USB ports.
Acer has delivered cutting-edge technology at an attractive price point. Gamers want panel speed, high resolution and the latest video processing and the XG270HU delivers on all counts. The only flaw is its TN panel but it is one of the best examples we’ve seen to date.

The Acer XG270HU is expected to retail for around £430 here in the UK which translates to $500 for prospective buyers across the pond. Given the specifications on offer the XG270HU is an attractive proposition for gamers who value gameplay fluidity over the 4K resolution or better IPS panel quality.

Slim bezel and matte finish, Competitively priced, Wide FreeSync range, Silky-smooth gaming experience

The XG270HU provided a good overall gaming screen, with some strong panel performance but a lack of some of the bells and whistles you will find from some other competing screens. Being a gaming screen there are a few areas of importance to focus on.
I have been very impressed with this monitor. It looks lovely and games play smoothly on it. First time I ever got a 144 Hz monitor and the difference is noticeable over 60 Hz. Only gripes I have are that the power brick gets pretty hot so don't put it on carpet if you can avoid it, baring that,...

power brick gets rather hot, The on button is underneath the monitor with the display keys for some reason
It is a nice monitor, even the orange trim is ok. As a whole the monitor is great except the display port. If I use the display port while playing GW2 it blacks out for about 3 seconds. And this happens repeatedly.
