When purchasing a pre-built small form factor gaming PC, there are a number of criteria to look at, most notably performance, price, and design. The Asus GR8 II succeeds in two of these three areas, which makes it a decent though not outstanding choice for those after a compact desktop system.

Decent hardware and performance for the price. Well suited to 1080p gaming at very high quality presets. Small chassis is only marginally larger than modern consoles.

Neither the CPU nor GPU are upgradeable. Loud under load. Ugly design with way too much ‘gamer style’.
Smaller, more efficient gaming PCs are getting better with each new generation of processor technology. Harnessing the latest CPU and GPU architectures from Intel and Nvidia, the Asus ROG GR8 II is able to deliver up-to-date gaming hardware in a form factor comparable to that of a modern games...

Kaby Lake CPU and GTX 1060 GPU, Delivers high-quality full-HD games, Console-like form factor, Energy efficient hardware

Internal fans get noisy under load, UK specification doesn't include an SSD, Limited upgrade path
Congrats to Asus for producing a mini gaming PC that not only looks great, also performs just as well. The 4-liter size ROG GR8 II is compact and sleek, and it comes with an eye-catching two-tone design. I especially like the Aura RGB lighting effects on the front of the chassis.

Compact and sleek design, Powerful 4 core/8 thread Core i7-7700 processor, GeForce GTX 1060, Aura Sync and SupremeFX audio, Built-in AC wifi, VR-ready

Nothing I can think of really, Could improve on the graphics card department
Asus is back with a small form factor gaming desktop, the ROG GR8 II. It isn’t a top of the line gaming rig; instead, taking on the specifications of something more budget friendly.
A well-built and attractive compact gaming PC with a great warranty, but its mechanical hard disk is a little disappointing.

Excellent case, Full desktop processor, Great performance, Generous warranty

No SSD, 3GB Nvidia GTX 1060 graphics card
"... we wish Asus had gone for a slightly more sensible CPU/GPU balancing act."
Bought this prebuilt to escape the hassles of the cryptocurrency stuff taking all the parts from my build and to solve a number of problems. I live and work in two different cities so portability was a major issue for me. My PC comes on the highway with me 5 times a month...

Incredibly portable, Great performance, Looks nice on the desk, low noise, especially quiet at idle - when the fans ramp up it's audible but to me not offensive in any way

Does run warm - gaming seasons bring cpu temps in a no air conditioning room to mid 80's. No thermal throttling.
This is the architectural masterpiece of desktop computers. It does all the things that computers are supposed to do while adding enormous eye appeal to your work area and room. I am not a gamer, but rather bought this computer for it's futuristic design.
When the system wasn't locking up it was great but we got tired of the problem and took the system back and replaced it with a similar MSI unit that isn't quite as fast (SDD vs HD amp; Less memory) but it hasn't suffered from any lockups.
This product is great for the price you pay for it. The 512gb SSD is definitely a good bonus. The pc stayed quiet and cool while I had it. Will definitely recommend
