As already mentioned at the end of the preview, the Asus ZenPad S 8.0 has the potential for a top tablet. Our in-depth review could not change this impression. However, it is not good enough for a place in our charts. For that, the Asus flagship has a few too many flaws. Let's take one at a time.

slim and light case, unique look, powerful hardware, 4 GB of RAM, good display, acceptable cameras & speakers, fair price policy

poor stability, moderate battery life, throttling, features are missing
Performance Summary: The ZenPad S 8.0 didn't turn on the jets and fly through our benchmarks at breakneck speeds, though overall, it did a decent job in most tests. In some cases, like SunSpider and Geekbench, it was comfortable mingling with the middle of the pack, while in benchmarks like...

Gorgeous 2048x136 display, Decent all around performance, Premium design, 4GB RAM as configured, USB Type-C connector, Very affordable price tag

Cameras are perhaps too sensitive to light, Too much bloatware, Underwhelming battery life, USB Type-C port is limited to USB 2.0 speeds
The Asus ZenPad S 8.0 is one of the best Android tablets around, with a price that belies its impressive quality.

The Asus ZenPad S 8.0 is affordable, lightweight and thin, with a sleek design. Its brilliant screen is razor sharp and can be color-corrected with preloaded Asus software. Adjusting the screen's color balance, saturation and sharpness is a breeze thanks to its user-friendly UI, and its microSD card...

The front-facing speakers are weak, and the cameras takes underwhelming photos.
The Acer Predator 8 is a solid Android tablet for gaming, even if Android isn't the best platform for gamers.

Solid performance., Nice display., Immersive haptic feedback., Good speakers., Stock Android build.

-
Short battery life., Lackluster cameras., Android gaming ecosystem not as robust as iOS.
The ZenPad S 8.0 is, without a doubt, the best and more beautiful yet affordable Android tablet Asus has ever made even beating the ones they made for the Google Nexus program in terms of design and performance. Perhaps our only problem with the tablet is the transition to the USB Type-C port.

Introduction It’s been a while since we’ve last reviewed a dedicated tablet from Asus, seeing that the last one we got the chance to check out was the hybrid PadFone X mini from last year.
Tablets have shrunk from the limelight in recent times. What once was a richly varied, technicolour stream has slowed to a trickle but, despite that, it’s becoming increasingly difficult for manufacturers to make their mark.
As I said in the introduction, its been a long time since we've seen a tablet from ASUS that wasn't aimed at the low end of the market. The ZenPad S Z580CA isn't a $500 flagship tablet, but with the specifications it provides it's essentially a high end 8" Android tablet.
The ASUS ZenPad S 8.0 is a tablet that was unveiled by ASUS at this summer’s Computex 2015 and seemed pretty impressive back then. Now we received the slate for testing, in the Z580CA version, complete with a slim design and 4 GB of RAM.
ASUS often manages to add a surprise or two to its product ranges, and the new ZenPad S 8.0 is no exception. Thin and light, this 8-inch Android tablet is styled as an iPad mini challenger. At £199.99 (inc.
Had this for a little over a week and so far it's exceeded expectations. I replaced my Nexus 7 which was a disaster after the upgrade to Lollipop. Hung up all the time, VERY slow. The ZenPad S 8 is very fast and smooth.
