It's hard to judge the VivoBook Pro N580VD as a whole, as it comes with multiple screen options and each takes a toll on the general score. The TN versions are deal-breakers, the UHD screen is overpriced for what it is, but the FHD IPS screens are good picks and the ones we rate at 4/5.

I've had this laptop for about a month now. I'm a graphic designer, and so I'm often using a lot of software that is very resource intensive. This laptop is fast and very efficient. The case build quality is very nice, and the 4k display is also excellent.

ASUS N580VD-DB74T has an IPS [BOE0703 BOE CQ NV156FHM-N43] (the 1st thing i checked, 72%NTSC wide angle) glossy. this N580VD-DB74T has Intel Core i7, NVIDIA GTX 1050 4GB, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD => got IPS (as mentioned on another review below) it works fine with Linux Mint 18.3.

There is no question that I'm happy with my purchase of this laptop. That's not to say the device isnt without faults. The screen on this laptop has amazing vibrancy even at lower brightness settings. It does, however, run into issues when the system is displaying at full 4k.

Overall this computer is still very functional even after 4 years. But I am severely disappointed in the battery life and touch screen. I have to keep my laptop constantly plugged or else the battery life lasts less than hour. Also the touchscreen stopped working after a year.

Worst Laptop I have ever know. Pro's - NONE Cons - To connect to a new wifi network I must connect and then restart my computer every single time. Most annoying thing to ever have to deal with! - Touchpad doesn't work correctly. When you try to left click it will mostly right click every time.

Already had this for over 2 years and still working very well. Just upgraded again with 1 TB SSD replacing my first upgrade of 480 GB SSD (yes it has a vacant slot for an SSD). Have attached two monitors, one on hdmi and another using a usb to vga (or hdmi) display adapter.

Ok, so.... I bought the Asus Vivobook Pro 15 (N580GD Model) and received it two weeks ago. I bought it for $1031,000, and it was when there was also the N580VD Model (you could choose between the two with different specs).

The processing power of this computer is a huge plus, but everything else somewhat suffers because of it. Touch screen works maybe 15% of the time - definitely not reliable. Battery life is not great if you’re using anything more than basic microsoft office apps.
