Very versatile speed light and the wireless feature using the WR-R11b on the Z6II makes it easy to control all 3 speed lights at shoots...although the light output is so consistent, it is normally only used after the test flash.
This is an outstanding flash. Its menu system is well thought out and it has a lot of power. It has the new radio triggering capability. I have a Nikon D500 which is one of the Nikon cameras that can work with the wireless radio triggering system.

Well thought out menu system. It has Nikon's new wireless radio triggering system. Its power helps when using the flash with light modifiers like umbrellas.

I purchased 2 SB5000 units to use with wirelessly with Nikon D850 and the required Nikon WR-R10 and WR-A10. The flashes synched immediately and are easily controlled using the on-camera controls. Much better than my old system of remote control via PocketWizard equipment.
I like these a lot. I have 3 of them so far and looking to buy at least 2 more. (It's why I'm on here right now actually...) These things have all the power you could really need in a speedlight, a great quality of light as well. Lots of options built in. Overheating is a non-issue.
This is an excellent flash with all the features youll ever need. I use probably 1/6 of the features but I believe in buying the best and growing into things when it comes to cameras and accessories. On a personal note I only buy Nikon. I keep my equipment for many years and I take care of it.
The ability to wirelessly control multiple flash units using radio signal is a huge advantage

What an upgrade from my SB-600. When photographing awards ceremonies from 85+ feet back (back of room), the SB-600 didnt have the capability to adequately light the stage area. In CW mode of the SB-5000, both the dais and stage were perfectly lit, no hot spots and the edge shadow roll-off was more...
I have a 810, and I've learned that this camera isn't compatible with the whole radio system they are selling this thing on. Additionally, the "backup" pocket wizard plusx's aren't compatible, either.
Works well and the cooling fan functions as described. I haven't tried the wireless feature

I have been a Nikon shooter since the early 90s. Before that I shot Canon in my film days. I am very happy with the SB 5000. I have owned many Nikon flash is starting with the SB 800, SB 900, and SB 910. The SB 5000 is a great improvement over there past speed lights.
