App lacks EQ, No speakerphone
JBL launched a bunch of products at CES this year, but few looked to be as promising as the Charge 5. Part rugged Bluetooth speaker, part power bank, the newest entry in the Charge series has much to offer, but it’s a lot more spendy than your average Bluetooth speaker.

The paradox of choice is ever present in the bluetooth speaker world. When looking to buy one, you’ll be faced with tons of options to the point you may feel so overwhelmed and spend weeks researching before you get the slightest idea of what you want.
JBL’s Charge series is known for its speakers with high volume, balanced audio, and long battery life. And nothing has changed with the series’ fifth generation. In our tests, it performed excellently and we didn’t have any issues with it.
A great speaker, but not worth the upgrade if you already own the Charge 4....
From the backyard to the beach, the JBL Charge 5 will keep you energized.
Received my new JBL charge 5 in blue (great colour). I’m really impressed with the update it’s almost the same size as my old JBL Charge 4 but the design is just fantastic a bit like a mini JBL Xtreme 3 which I also own in black. Now to the sound.
Smaller than expected but BIGGER in sound quality and volume than expected! Paired with Bluetooth so fast. My first Bluetooth speaker ever after hearing other friends speakers and I have to say...this one tops even their more expensive ones. I'll me enjoying this unit everywhere now.

Over the years we have purchased numerous types of portable speakers and this one has been the best this far. The sound it produces, loudness with clarity, I just love it! We hook it up with some zip ties when we take the four wheeler out,.so it's been the perfect addition to our riding days..
We had a charge 3 that we loved which broke after falling into a hot tub. The Charge 5 is way better at providing much louder and better quality sound. It also will charge our phones quickly and without loosing much of it's own battery. Very happy with it.
This is by far the best Bluetooth speaker I've ever owned. The sound is clear, and had no problems connecting. Charging my phone listening to music is amazing. Without a doubt I would recommend this to everyone!
I bought this speaker for all around listening and wow does it do good I do use it’s equalizer a lot but even the inbox sound is great and I love yeeting some water on the radiator and watching that boy bounce 10/10
Absolutely love this speaker. Great, well-rounded bass quality that holds up as volume increases. Mid and treble ranges are great too, really surprised by the crispness and clarity of the sound. Favorite at work and camping speaker!
Very nice bombastic sound even on at low volumes, and definitely waterproof/condensation proof. Great for camping.
One of the best portable bluetooth speakers on the market now. Clear sound and deap bass, I love it. Powerbank function, IP67 protection, partyboost mode are great! Two things which holding me from a 5 star rating are that the speaker is a little expensive and the second that it has connection...
I owned the charge 3 before and absolutely loved it. Buying the charge 5 was an easy upgrade. It's loud, durable, and has great battery life. Because it is very directional in how the sound is put out it allows you to enjoy clear loud music without being a nuisance to others.
